OSCE condemns deliberate targeting of innocent civilians: U.S. Co-chair

OSCE Minsk Group U.S. Co-chair James Warlick tweeted about the recent situation at the line of contact between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

“We condemn the deliberate targeting of innocent civilians in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. We stand for a negotiated settlement,” Warlick wrote.

On his Twitter account, Warlick shared a photo of a shell splinter, fired by Azerbaijan. “This is a 120mm mortar reportedly used in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. Such escalation in unacceptable,” he tweeted.

In a separate tweet the Co-chair noted that “both Armenia and Azerbaijan report the use of mortars and heavy weapons.”

In an interview with Azerbaijani news agency APA on September 3, James Warlick stated that the Co-chairs plan to travel to the region, but failed to mention specific dates.
