“Creed” trailer features Sylvester Stallone, Michael B. Jordan

Audiences will soon step back in the ring with one legendary underdog and his new protege thanks to “Creed,” the next film in the enduring “Rocky” franchise starring Sylvester Stallone and Michael B. Jordan. To warm us up for round seven, MGM and Warner Bros. have released the latest trailer for the boxing sequel, which hits theaters on Nov. 25, Variety reports.

In the pic, Stallone returns as Rocky Balboa, who decides to train Jordan’s Adonis Creed — the son of his longtime rival-turned-friend, Apollo Creed (played by Carl Weathers in the first four installments of the franchise) — who has decided to follow his father’s footsteps into the ring. The new trailer offers a deeper look into the plot of the film, including Adonis’ troubled past and Rocky’s failing health, as the two unlikely fighters rise back to the top.

The film reteams Jordan with his “Fruitvale Station” director Ryan Coogler, who wrote the script alongside Aaron Covington. Wood Harris, Tessa Thompson and Phylicia Rashad round out the cast.
