Lionsgate and Grindstone have closed a low-seven-figure deal to acquire Matthew Cullen’s “London Fields” and will release the adaptation of Martin Amis’ 1989 novel through Lionsgate Premiere, TheWrap has learned.

Amber Heard and Theo James star alongside Jim Sturgess, Cara Delevingne and Billy Bob Thornton, while Heard’s real-life beau Johnny Depp also makes an appearance.

Set in London in 1999, the film stars Heard as a clairvoyant femme fatale named Nicola Six who is haunted by a dark premonition of her own murder. She enters a tangled love affair with three very different men, one of whom she knows will kill her.

Cullen is actually in the midst of suing producers Chris Hanley and Jordan Gertner, alleging that the version of “London Fields” that screened at Toronto wasn’t the version that he signed on to make. Hanley’s wife, Roberta Hanley, co-wrote the script with Amis. Heard’s manager Geyer Kosinski, is also credited as a producer on the film, though he was not named in the suit.
