Balthazar Getty is joining the cast of "Twin Peaks" revival. TVLine was first to break the news, but has no details of the character the actor would be playing, whether it's a new character or an existing one, because it was still kept a top secret, AceShowbiz reports.

Meanwhile, rumors have been abuzz that at least one major role from the original series has been recast. A representative for Showtime declined to comment on the matter, and neither Getty nor his camp has addressed the casting news. Previously it has been reported that actress Amanda Seyfried landed a major role in the much anticipated revival.

Showtimes' upcoming "Twin Peaks" would be a continuation of the '90s classic. The original series' co-creators David Lynch and Mark Frost have penned all episodes of the revival series, which reportedly will total more than the originally announced nine hours. Lynch would be on hand directing as well. Filming is currently underway in Washington state.
