Russia vows response if U.S. upgrades nukes in Germany

Russia may deploy Iskander ballistic missiles to its enclave of Kaliningrad if the United States upgrades its nuclear weapons in Germany, Reuters reports citing the Interfax news agency.

"A final decision will be taken after detailed analysis of the potential threat," Interfax cited the source as saying Wednesday, September 23.

Earlier, Press TV reported that the United States Air Force (USAF) is going to station 20 new B61-12 nuclear bombs in Germany, each 80 times more destructive than the one used on Hiroshima.

Moscow has referred to the new move to upgrade Büchel Air Base’s nuclear arsenal as a threat from NATO to Russia's borders.
