Armenia Interested in Expanding Cooperation with Japan
Today newly appointed Japanese Ambassador to Armenia Yasuo Saito (residence in Moscow) presented credentials to Armenian President Robert Kocharian, reports the Press Office of the Armenian leader. During the meeting Kocharian stated that Armenia is interested in expanding cooperation with Japan. He appreciated Japanese Government's contribution to economic development of Armenia, specifically noting energy programs and agreement on beneficial credit to re-equip the Yerevan thermoelectric power station. In the President's words, Japan is a good example of success through effective management and diligence. Japanese experience of modernization of the country with preserving national peculiarities very useful to Armenia, he said. The parties also discussed international matters, including nuclear arms tests in North Korea.
