Lorde unveils collaboration with Disclosure, “Magnets”

Lorde's world domination began with the ruthlessly catchy "Royals." So it's fitting that her new song with Disclosure, "Magnets," harnesses the laws of attraction to get you hooked, Mashable reports.

This is Lorde's first new song since she wrote "Yellow Flicker Beat" for the Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1 soundtrack. It features very Lorde lyrics, such as, "I love the secret language that we're speaking. Say it to me. Let's embrace the point of no return."

The song premiered on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 show Wednesday, September 23 afternoon just before the Friday release of Disclosure's new album. Caracal will also feature more of today's music royalty, including The Weeknd, Sam Smith and Miguel.

Lorde went on the show to talk about working with the sibling duo, saying she related to them because they're all so young and often unable to attend shows at venues they're playing, and working on her new record that she's currently making in Los Angeles.

"The song is about the moment you're about to do something wrong and you're not in your right mind because you're blinded by how badly you want to do whatever it is," Lorde told Lowe. "And sometimes you're coerced by someone, 'C'mon let's do it you'll enjoy it, just let go,' and sometimes you're doing the coercing."

Disclosure previously remixed "Royals" and teamed up with Lorde and AlunaGeorge for a performance at the 2014 Brit Awards.

Disclosure also recently collaborated with Sam Smith on the upcoming Bond theme song, "Writing's On The Wall" and will kick of a United States tour in L.A. on September 29 with a show directed by James Corden that will be live-streamed.
