BlackBerry's first Android smartphone has a name

BlackBerry's first Android smartphone has been leaked under the codename of Venice several times, but we won't be calling it that from now on, Digital Spy reports.

The QWERTY keyboard-packing device's official title is the BlackBerry Priv, according to Twitter tipster Evleaks, which has shared yet another render of the phone.

We'd usually tell you to take this report with a grain of salt, but the Priv name has also appeared on reliable rumours website N4BB.

On the specs front, the Venice has been tipped to include a 5.4-inch QHD display, a 1.8GHz Snapdragon processor, an 18-megapixel camera, and 3GB of RAM.

It will combine Google's software and services with BlackBerry's love of privacy - hence the Priv name - and physical keys.

BlackBerry is yet to confirm when the handset will see the light of day, but the latest reports point to a November unveiling.
