Casting of Armenian actors for Sarik Andreasyan’s large-scale big-budget drama “Story of One Earthquake” is completed, Russian television and film producer of Armenian origin, Mars Media director Ruben Dishdishyan wrote in a Facebook post.

Prominent actors, including Hrant Tokhatyan, Sos Janibekyan, Mikael Poghosyan, Tatev Hovakimyan and Victor Stepanian were cast. “We not only traveled, but also worked in Armenia. Shooting will kick off soon,” Dishdishyan wrote.

As reported earlier, Russian actors Konstantin Lavronenko, Maria Mironova, Daniil Izotov, Artyom Bystrov and Sabina Akhmedova will star in Andreasyan’s drama.

The movie chronicles tragic events of December 1988 in Armenia.

The story, set in an earthquake-ravaged Leninakan, follows a young Armenian Robert Melkonyan and an older Russian Andrey Berezhnoy, who find themselves in the epicenter of the quake and are the first to rush to help.
