Apple's 21.5-inch iMacs "to become available next week"

Apple's 21.5-inch iMacs with 4K could be available in stores as soon as next week, Digital Spy reports.

9to5Mac claims to have heard from its inside sources that Apple will be launching the revamped machines on October 13.

Previous reports suggest that the new iMacs will have a 4096 x 2304 resolution, a significant improvement on the 1080p display on the current 21.5-inch iMac.

If past Mac upgrades are anything to go on, we can also expect a faster processor, improved colour saturation, and a bigger dent in your bank balance.

It's been a busy month for Apple, with the Cupertino firm launching two new iPhones, revamping Apple TV and announcing the super-sized iPad Pro in September.

The recently-released OS X El Capitan is expected to come pre-installed on the new 21.5-inch iMacs.
