Yerevan hosts SunChild 5th International Environmental Festival

SunChild 5th International Environmental Festival kicked off in Yerevan Thursday, November 12, followed by the screening of “The Wisdom to Survive” by John Ankele and Anne Macksoud.

The Festival is organized by the Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets, with the support of Armenia’s Ministry of Environment and VivaCell-MTS.

“As the pioneer of CSR in Armenia, VivaCell-MTS has not only supported environmental projects but has also been part of such activities,” VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian said. “SunChild has played a vital role in enhancing environmental movement to higher level, and we are excited to have initiated this unique festival.”

The film program of the Festival includes 70 short, feature, animated and documentary movies from 22 countries, most of them winners of numerous awards in renowned environmental film festivals around the world.

The movies were screened at Moscow Cinema, Aeon and LOFT Clubs from November 12 to November 15, scheduled to travel through Armenia afterwards.

Besides the film program, different workshops, educational programs and open air events were organized in the framework of the festival.
