Russia flies 141 sorties, strikes 472 terrorist targets in Syria over weekend

Russia's air force flew 141 sorties and hit 472 terrorist targets in Syria over the weekend, the RIA news agency quoted the Russian Defence Ministry as saying on Monday, November 23, According to Reuters.

Russian jets hit targets in Syria's Aleppo, Damascus, Idlib, Latakia, Hama, Raqqa, Homs, and Deir ez-Zor provinces, the ministry said.

On 30 September 2015, Russia started military intervention in the Syrian Civil War, consisting of air strikes primarily in north-western Syria by Russia against militant groups opposed to the Syrian government, including al-Nusra Front (al-Qaeda in the Levant), the Islamic State and the Army of Conquest.
