Ridley Scott’s son Jake Scott directing “The Burning Woman” thriller

Ridley Scott’s son Jake Scott is directing the thriller “The Burning Woman” for Scott Free, with Ridley Scott, Michael Pruss, Michael Schaefer and Erika Olde producing, Variety reports.

The script, written by Brad Ingelsby, centers on a young grandmother who lives with her daughter and her grandson, and follows her journey as she strives to cope, find love, and raise her grandson after her daughter goes missing.

No actors are attached yet.

Jake Scott directed “Welcome to the Rileys,” starring James Gandolfini and Kristen Stewart. Ingelsby’s credits include “Out of the Furnace” and “Run All Night.”

Scott Free produced Matt Damon’s sci-fi hit “The Martian” with Ridley Scott directing.

Olde is producing “The Burning Woman” through her Black Bicycle Entertainment. She most recently produced “November Criminals” for Sony through Black Bicycle.
