Google allows users to text money to one another

You can now send money using just a phone number with Google Wallet. The update will be rolled out in a new version of the app which you can download from Google Play or App Store in the coming days, Digital Spy said.

"When you send money to a phone number, the recipient will get a text message with a secure link," Google explained.

"They can simply enter their debit card to claim the money and it will be available in their bank account within minutes."

In its latest blog on the app, Google rounded up several recent updates.

It notes the ability to link a second bank account, one-button-tap app locking for security and improved contact suggestions.
