Oscilloscope nabs Venice Fest's Juliette Binoche film "L’Attesa"

Adam Yauch-founded production and distribution Oscilloscope Laboratories has announced acquisition of U.S. rights to director Piero Messina’s L’Attesa, with plans to release the film in theaters in Spring 2016, Deadline reports. The film tells the story of the relationship between between a mother, Anna (Juliette Binoche), and her son Giuseppe’s young girlfriend, Jeane (Lou de Laâge). Over the Easter holiday, the two grow closer as they wait for the return of Giuseppe who is mysteriously delayed.

The film world premiered at the 2015 Venice Film Festival, and saw its North American Film at TIFF, and was produced by Nicola Giuliano, Francesca Cima, Carlotta Calori, Fabio Conversi, and Jérôme Seydoux. It was written by Giacomo Bendotti, Ilaria Macchia, Andrea Paolo Massara, and Messina. L’Attesa is Messina’s feature debut.
