Eckhart Tolle bestseller “A New Earth” to get film treatment

Eckhart Tolle’s bestselling book “A New Earth” is being developed as a feature film and the producers will conduct a nationwide search to find a screenwriter, TheWrap has learned.

“A New Earth” is being made by Te Amo Productions in affiliation with Lleju Productions and co-producer The Visioneering Group. The film will explore the universal themes of Tolle’s book in a dramatic narrative form.

A special 10th anniversary edition of “A New Earth” will be released in January 2016 that includes a new foreword by Tolle. The book was selected in January 2008 by Oprah’s book club and was the fastest-selling title in its history. It is currently available in 44 languages and has sold millions of copies worldwide, including 6 million in North America alone.

In his foreword to the 10th anniversary edition of “A New Earth,” Tolle writes, “We are at present in the early stages of the awakening of consciousness, but it is accelerating. If you are reading this, you are already an essential part of this process. The primary factor in all of this is your state of consciousness in the only time there is: the now! That is the arising of the new earth.”

Tolle is ranked #3 on the list of the 100 Most Spiritually Influential Living People of 2015, just behind Pope Francis and the Dalai Lama. He is also an honorary co-founder of the Global Alliance for Transformational Entertainment (GATE).
