Orhan Pamuk Pessimistic about Turkey's Accession to EU
Turkish writer and Nobel Prize winner, Orhan Pamuk believes that his country's accession to EU will benefit both sides, but he is pessimistic on the issue. ''This is a question that upsets me. And it is the most critical comment I can make now. If Turkey enters the EU, it will be beneficial for the European Union and democracy in Turkey. It would prove that not conflicts but harmony exist between civilizations. But during the recent two years inspiration abated,'' Pamuk told a news conference in Stockholm, where he will be awarded Nobel Prize for literature December 10, RIA Novosti reports.
