EEU may cut customs duties on Iranian agricultural products

The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) could discuss a proposal by Russian President Vladimir Putin to reduce customs duties on agricultural products from Iran, Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov said Wednesday, December 23, Sputnik International reports.

According to Shuvalov, Putin proposed on December 21 to his partners from the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) to decrease customs duties on agricultural goods imported from Iran.

"That's why this [issue] will be thoroughly worked out in the framework of the Eurasian [Economic] Commission, in January. We hope that our colleagues from the council [of the EEC] will consider the issue soon," Shuvalov said during a meeting with Iranian top officials.
