Karabakh soldier killed in Azeri sniper attack

Azeri troops have broken the relative calm on the contact line between Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan.

On December 25, at around 1:00 pm, Karabakh army soldier Karen Akulyan, aged 18, was lethally wounded in the rival’s sniper attack.

An investigation into the details of the incident is underway.

Relative calm on the line of contact between Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan was observed on the night of December 24-25.

According to the Karabakh Defense Ministry, in the reporting period Azerbaijani armed forces have fired 500 shots from various caliber artillery weapons.

Before that, however, the rival had initiated a number of subversive attacks, at the same time opening fire on Armenian settlements.
