Google Glass new enterprise edition offers major improvement

Google hasn't revealed much about the future of Google Glass since taking the project back to the drawing board early this year, but a recent patent filing has shed light on its next iteration, Digital Spy said.

Photos of a new Enterprise Edition of the headset have surfaced in a patent filing registered with the FCC, and several design improvements can be seen.

The device appears slicker and more durable than before, with a larger display prism and a hinge that lets users fold it up for added transportability.

Images of the work-centric Glass' innards reveal a slot for a magnetic battery add-on and a next-generation Atom processor.

The Enterprise Edition Glass is geared towards businesses, so it remains to be seen whether its design will be carried over to a consumer product.

Since folding its Glass Explorer programme in January, Google has restructured the team in charge of the project and placed Nest boss Tony Fadell at the helm.

Google Glass has also been renamed Project Aura, not to be confused with the Google-backed module smartphone Project Ara.
