Armenia, Georgia sign 2016 military cooperation plan

Currently on a three-day visit to Armenia, Georgian Defense Minister Tinatin Khidasheli met Monday, February 1, with her Armenian counterpart Seyran Ohanyan.

According to a statement on the Armenian Defense Ministry’s website, the parties addressed relations between the two countries, issues concerning international and regional security as well as bilateral cooperation in the defense sector.

The dignitaries further signed Armenia and Georgia’s military cooperation plan for 2016.

Exchange of experience in the sector of peacekeeping, military training, specialized retraining and strategic planning is among the guidelines for this year’s cooperation plan.

The meeting was followed by a Ministers Ohanyan and Khidasheli’s joint press conference.

Also, the Georgian Defense Minister is set to meet with President Serzh Sargsyan, Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian as well as the Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II.
