Android 6.0 Marshmallow rolling out to Samsung Galaxy S6

You won't have to wait for the Galaxy S7 to get Android 6.0 Marshmallow on your Samsung handset - Google's latest OS is rolling out to the Galaxy S6, Digital Spy said.

The software has started to hit S6 and S6 Edge handsets in the company's native South Korea, as Pocketnow points out.

Android 6.0 is expected to find its way to other territories after doing the rounds in Asia, but it could be some time before it reaches everyone.

Samsung is yet to announce when its phablets, the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+, are due to receive the operating system, but they're likely to be next in line.

Meanwhile, Samsung has as good as confirmed that it willreveal the Galaxy S7 on February 21 - the day before MWC 2016 opens its doors.

The next-generation handset is expected to sport a similar design to the Galaxy S6, with new features including a pressure-sensitive display, an enhanced camera, and a reinstated microSD slot.
