The situation on the contact line between Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan has noticeably escalated, with the rival’s troops having fired over 1500 shots from various caliber weapons on the night of February 4-5, the Karabakh Defense Army says.

According to the report, on February 5, at around 3:55 am, Armenian soldier Simon Chavrshyan was lethally wounded in one of the southern military units of the Karabakh Defense Army.

An investigation into the details of the incident is currently underway.
