Armenia, KfW bank discuss water supply to 570 villages

The chairman of the Armenian State Water Resources Committee Aram Harutyunyan and Zara Chatinyan from the Yerevan office of the German KfW bank discussed Monday, February 8, water supply problems in the Armenian communities.

The Committee said in a press release that they also examined a set of issues concerning the second stage of a community infrastructure program.

Particularly, they looked into the problem of water supply to 570 rural communities across the country. Besides, they dwelled on a possible establishment of a unit within the Committee for property management, investments and independent audits.

Also, the parties discussed the upcoming tender for the selection of a single operator for the drinking water supply, KfW’s assistance as well as strategic projects to develop this sector, ARKA reports.
