HBO's "Confirmation" trailer features Kerry Washington

Kerry Washington takes on a role of another strong woman, and this time it's a real-life character, in HBO's film "Confirmation". Her portrayal of Oklahoma law professor Anita Hill, who accused Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas of sexual harassment in 1991, is now previewed in a first trailer for the TV movie, AceShowbiz reports.

The trailer captures her strong determination to bring up the truth amid intense media scrutiny and lies made up by the opposing party. "I could not keep silent," Washington's Hill says during a testimony. "I was not dishonest."

Hill's shocking confession that she was a victim of Thomas' sexual harassment brought the country to a standstill and forever changed the way we think about sexual harassment, victims' rights and modern race relations.

Wendell Pierce plays Clarence Thomas, with Greg Kinnear, Jennifer Hudson, Jeffrey Wright, Eric Stonestreet and more taking other roles. Written by Susannah Grant and directed by Rick Famuyiwa, the drama pic will premiere Saturday, April 16 at 8 P.M. on HBO.
