Coldplay, Charli XCX, Foals among NME Awards 2016 winners

Last night (February 17) saw the NME Awards return for 2016, with Coldplay, Taylor Swift, Bring Me The Horizon, Foals, Yoko Ono and Wolf Alice all among the winners, Gigwise reveals.

Held at London's Brixton Academy, members of Blur, The Libertines and more were in attendance for performances from the likes of The Maccabees, Foals, Rat Boy, Bring Me The Horizon and a closing set from winners of the Godlike Genius Award, Coldplay.

Bring Me The Horizon frontman Oli Sykes invaded the crowd during their performance, trashing Coldplay's table in the process, which was fun.

Yoko Ono was also in attendance to accept the Inspiration Award from Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore, while other big winners included Wolf Alice for Best Live Band and Best Track, The Maccabees were crowned Best British Band, Foals won Best Album for What Went Down while The Libertines won Moment Of The Year for their secret set at Glastonbury.

Taylor Swift was not in attendance, but took accepted her Best International Solo Artist via video message.
