Germany Indignant At Disgusting Assassination of Hrant Dink
The German MFA spread Germany's official statement as a EU Chairman-in-Office state on bilingual Armenian-Turkish 'Agos' weekly editor Hrant Dink's assassination. The statement says, the EU Chairman-in-Office state is indignant at this disgusting murder and expresses its deep condolences to the family members and friends of Hrant Dink." "The Chairman-in-Office is sure that the Turkish authorities will reveal this criminal act as soon as possible and does not have slightest doubts that Ankara will keep on going through the way of fulfilling freedom of opinion," the statement says.

The German MFA also underscores Hrant Dink was a brave journalist, who realized that his professional activity on the fight for democracy and freedom of opinion, harbors a great risk for his own life. "But at the same time he always kept the sense of proportion and avoided provoking confrontation. He unambiguously was in favor of democratic reforms in Turkey. That's why Hrant Dink enjoyed great respect not only among different layers of Turkish society but also in Europe," says the document, RIA 'Novosti' reports.
