Turkey’s Erdogan among Obama’s disappointments: The Atlantic

Prominent American-Israeli journalist, an author and a staff writer for The Atlantic, Jeffrey Goldberg has put together an intimate profile of U.S. President Barack Obama, in which the American leader talks through his hardest decisions about America’s role in the world.

In a separate publication, the Atlantic unveils an article on Obama’s disappointment, with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan listed among leaders who frustrate him immensely.

“Early on, Obama saw Erdogan as the sort of moderate Muslim leader who would bridge the divide between East and West—but Obama now considers him a failure and an authoritarian, one who refuses to use his enormous army to bring stability to Syria,” the magazine says, in particular.
