“Bad Moms” comedy, “The Space Between Us” sci-fi swap release dates

Female-centric comedy Bad Moms and sci-fi drama The Space Between Us have gotten new releases date, STX Entertainment announced, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Bad Moms was set to open Aug. 19, but it will now hit theaters on July 29, while Space Between Us, which was previously slated to debut on July 29, will bow on Aug. 19.

Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, Jada Pinkett Smith and Christina Applegate star in Bad Moms, a comedy from writers-directors Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, the duo responsible for the original Hangover screenplay. The pic follows Kunis' character, an overworked and underappreciated mom who teams up with her friends to rediscover herself.

On its new date, Bad Moms will act as counter-programming to Jason Bourne, the newest film in the Matt Damon-starring franchise.

Peter Chelsom is directing Space Between Us, a sci-fi adventure film starring Gary Oldman, Asa Butterfield and Britt Robertson. It follows the story of Gardner Elliot (Butterfield), the first baby born on Mars, who gets a chance to return to Earth as a teenager only to discover his organs can't withstand the change in atmosphere.

Space Between Us will now be opening against Kubo and the Two Strings, the latest offering from stop-motion animation studio Laika.
