Levon Aronian of Armenia lost Round 9 of Moscow-hosted World Chess Candidates Tournament in the game against India’s Viswanathan Anand.

Aronian (5 points) currently holds the third spot behind Sergey Karjakin of Russia (5.5 points) and Anand (5.5 points).

In other games, Veselin Topalov (Bulgaria, 3 points) drew with Peter Svidler (Russsia, 4); Hikaru Nakamura (U.S., 3.5) drew with Karjakin.
