IAAF announces 21 chairpersons for commissions, advisory groups

The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) has announced the 21 chairpersons for commissions and advisory groups it hopes will deliver "a fundamental program of change" to its administration, the Associated Press reports.

IAAF President Sebastian Coe has a huge task to clean up athletics in the wake of systematic corruption and doping cover-ups in Russia, and corruption scandals exposed within the IAAF itself.

South African Harold Adams heads the medical and anti-doping commission, while French athletics federation president Bernard Amsalem leads the values commission.

Former IAAF general secretary Pierre Weiss is involved as head of the masters' commission. The membership of each of the commissions and groups will be announced shortly, the IAAF said Wednesday, March 23.

Coe says "the commission chairs draw upon the vast array of experience and expertise from across the globe."
