The U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) published a report on inflation rates (consumer prices) worldwide which compares the annual percent change in consumer prices with the previous year's consumer prices.

According to the report, Armenia posted a 5.6% inflation in 2015, to take the 44th spot. Official data, however, point to only 3.7% hike in consumer prices.

Venezuela registered the highest rates of inflation in 2015, with experts finding it difficult to even provide precise figures. Ukraine follows the South American nation with 49% inflation last year.

In a number of countries, on the contrary, the CIA has registered deflation, with Lebanon, the Northern Mariana Islands, Afghanistan, Greece and Switzerland reporting a drop in consumer prices.
