Turkey planning to integrate women into combat roles: media

The Turkish National Security Council is currently working on a bill that would integrate women into military service, Trend said citing a Yeni Safak report.

Some sources suggest that the parliament is expected to vote on the bill soon.

According to some reforms implemented earlier, Turkish citizens have the option to pay a certain fee to be exempt from mandatory military service.

The new bill envisages that men aged between 16 and 60, and women (who can handle weapons) aged between 20 and 46, will be conscripted in time of war.
