The Armenia-EU cooperation has entered a new stage, said Armen Rustamian, the RA NA member, chairman of the permanent parliamentary commission for external relations and member of the Armenia-EU parliamentary cooperation committee. "Armenia has led out relations with the European Union to a new level. Besides the agreement on cooperation, the New Neighborhood Policy will convey an impulse to the Armenia-EU relations. The program includes all steps essential for Armenia's integration in the European structures," he said.

When commenting on the outcomes of the 9th meeting of the Armenia-EU parliamentary cooperation committee held in Brussels January 29-30, Rustamian said it was extremely efficient.

According to him, the joint work resulted in discussions on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict in European structures. "In this aspect we tried to apply all parliamentary tools for contribution to a peaceful resolution of the conflict, to represent and defend NKR's positions," he underscored. Among the most significant issues Rustamian marked out establishment of the Armenian-Turkish dialogue and revealing of problems in its development.

He also informed that the committee issued a special statement on the Armenia-EU relations, internal political situation in Armenia, the Nagorno Karabakh conflict and the Armenian-Turkish relations, reports newsarmenia.ru.
