Armenia offers to open EU information center in Yerevan
Armenia-EU Parliamentary Cooperation Commission called upon the European Commission to significantly increase and redistribute the financing of Action Plan in the framework of the European Neighborhood Policy, told Armen Roustamian, the Chairman of RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations representing ARFD faction at the Armenian National Assembly, Co-Chair of Armenia-EU Parliamentary Cooperation Commission. He noticed that this offer was recorded in a special statement, which was adopted in the result of the session in Brussels held February 29-30.

In his words, in order to increase the level of awareness on EU matters among the Armenian population the commission also has offered to open an information center in Yerevan. Moreover, parliamentarians offered to establish a full representation of the European Union in the Armenian capital, which will increase efficiency of EU activities in Armenia. In order to establish dialog between representatives of Armenian and European communities it was offered to simplify the process of visa issue to students, businessmen, and scientists. Besides, in a separate paragraph the parliamentarians also tried to prove the necessity in conducting examination to work out an agreement on free trade, in this case it is supposed the possibility to found free trade zones and so forth, IA Regnum reports.
