Armenian soldier wounded in Azerbaijani fire

A contract serviceman of the Armenian Armed Forces was wounded Monday, April 4, as Azerbaijani troops opened fire on the village of Nerkin Karmiraghbyur in Tavush province, Berd mayor Harutyun Manucharyan told PanARMENIAN.Net.

According to the chief of Berd Hospital Edik Grigoryan, the soldier has suffered lung injury.

“The patient has already undergone surgery, his condition now assessed as critical but stable. The serviceman is put on mechanical ventilation,” Grigoryan said.

On April 3, PanARMENIAN.Net got in touch with the heads of a number of border towns and villages in Tavush province to inquire about the situation on the Armenian-Azeri border. As the news agency was told, no overnight shelling was reported in Voskevan, Voskepar, Berd, Noyemberyan, Nerkin Karmiraghbyur, Paravakar and Aygepar with the situation remaining calm.
