The Killers perform with Imagine Dragons' frontman

The Killers have kicked off a summer tour, playing the opening gig at the T-Mobile Arena in their hometown of Las Vegas - performing 'Human' with Blue Man Group, 'Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine' with Imagine Dragons, as well as covering a number of Elvis songs and 'Johnny B. Goode', Gigwise said.

In true Vegas style, Brandon Flowers and co invited the performance art sensation on stage for their massive Day & Age track, as well as kicking off a drum-battle, Gigwise said.

Not only that, but the band also outed their now staple cover of Joy Division's Shadowplay, as well as a cover of Chuck Berry's 'Johnny B Goode' with crooner Wayne Newton, covers of Elvis' 'Can't Help Falling In Love With You' and 'Viva Las Vegas' - and invited Imagine Dragons' frontman Dan Reynolds on stage for the Hot Fuss opener 'Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine'.

Meanwhile, The Killers are currently in the stages of writing their new album - set for release this year. Even Elton John claims to be working on it.

This comes after frontman Brandon Flowers spent much of last year promoting his stunning second solo album, The Desired Effect.

Last month saw The Killers pay tribute after a video of a drunk man singing 'Mr Brightside' at a wake in Ireland went viral.
