Armenia seeks to ensure fulfillment of commitments under Russia arms deal

The Armenian government will on Thursday, April 14, discuss the issue of controlling fulfillment of commitments under the agreement on state export credit between Armenia and Russia.

The draft bill to be discussed envisages assigning:

1. the Finance Minister to control the Armenian side's fulfillment of commitments under the agreement;

2. the Defense Minister to clarify the list of modern arms and military equipment to be delivered to Armenia, as well as to discuss and sign with relevant Russian agencies the contracts for the supply of modern military products;

3. the chief of the Central Bank to work with Russia's Vnesheconombank towards sealing an agreement on the technical side of loan accounting and management of accounts by April 29, as well as inform Armenia's Finance and Defense Ministries on the signing of the agreement within five days.
