Ramil Safarov appeal to be considered in Budapest February 22
February 22 the Hungarian Court of Appeal will sit on the case of the murder of Armenian officer Gurgen Margaryan committed three years ago by Azeri serviceman Ramil Safarov, Margaryan's family lawyer Nazeli Vardanyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter. Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute Hayk Demoyan, who represented the RA Defense Ministry at the process, will also take part in the hearing.
"I'm not apt to make forecasts. The opponents should ground the action. After consideration of the documents the court can either uphold the sentence or change it. Remittance of the case for further examination is also possible," Ms. Vardanyan said.
April 13, 2006 the First Instance Budapest Court sentenced Ramil Safarov to life imprisonment without right for amnesty during 30 years. The verdict said that Ramil Safarov, who numerously repeated that he is ready to kill all Armenians, is a threat for the society and is capable to commit a similar crime again.
