Bilingual book, documentary on Armenian heritage presented

Owing to the support of Armenia’s Ministry of Culture, the Armenian Genocide Centennial Committee and VivaCell-MTS, Ye. Charents Museum of Literature and Arts has published an illustrated book summing up the results of the “Response after 100 years” project.

The film “We will come,” based on a June 2015 pilgrimage to Western Armenia was also prepared, featuring a thematic song by Diaspora Armenians Sipil and the band The Beautified Project.

The illustrated book includes 10 letters written in the years of the Armenian Genocide, which had remained unanswered, responses to these letters after 100 years from famous Armenian and foreign officials: letters, paintings, exclusive works and archival photographs. The second section of the book features the best twenty works submitted to a contest of paintings, graphic works and sculptures on Armenian Genocide documents.

“Response after 100 years” project coordinator Hasmik Hakhverdyan came up with the idea of both the book and the film. The book includes works by over ten authors, as well as thematic articles and essays.

The presentation of the book and the film took place in the Ye. Charents Museum, with Tigran Mansuryan, Serge Avedikian, Hasmik Papyan, Verzhine Svazlyan attending the event.
