Photos showing the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev awarding a war criminal who beheaded Karabakh soldier Kyaram Sloyan, afterwards posing with the severed head, landed online.

In the course of Karabakh escalation, the press and social media were flooded with shocking footage of Azerbaijani soldiers posing with the severed head of the 20-year-old Sloyan, a Yezidi.

During the April hostilities, the Azerbaijani side committed a number of other serious war crimes, brought to the attention of the European Court of Human Rights.
