Given Azerbaijan’s disrespect to the OSCE Minsk-Group Co-chairs’ efforts and the 1994 ceasefire agreement, any developments are possible, RFE/RL Armenian Service cited the Nagorno Karabakh Deputy Prime Minister as saying.

“I believe the so-called gentlemen’s agreement between the [Armenian and Azerbaijani] chiefs of General Staff is still in place, but knowing the rival, the situation can progress in any way,” Artur Aghabekyan said.

“If Azerbaijan doesn’t withdraw its forces, we'll go on with our defense measures, and if Baku attacks, we'll continue suppressing the rival on the frontline.”

According to the Deputy PM, people evacuated from the conflict hotspots are in the center of the government’s attention.

“Taking those evacuated back to their settlements is premature today,” Aghabekyan said.

“We have even discussed provision of jobs in the light and food industries to people who have resettled in the capital, Stepanakert.”
