Pope Francis, set to visit Armenia on June 24-26, will meet with the refugees who fled violence and war in Syria, Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan said Thursday, May 5.

Addressing an interdepartmental commission on the coordination of the issues of Syrian-Armenians, Hakobyan urged to properly organize the meeting between the pontiff and the refugees.

Also on the interdepartmental commission meeting agenda were social assistance programs for the Syrian-Armenians, as well as issues of arranging summer holidays for the refugee children.
