Fresh Syria airstrikes kill at least 10, activists say

Syrian activist groups say two airstrikes on a northwestern Syrian town have killed at least 10 people, the Associated Press reports.

The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights and the Local Coordination Committees said Tuesday, May 10's attack on the town of Binnish also wounded dozens. The LCC says the warplanes were Syrian while the Observatory says it wasn't clear if they were Syrian or Russian.

The Observatory says those killed included a local rebel commander of a faction linked to the ultraconservative Ahrar al-Sham militia. The militia is in a coalition that includes al-Qaida's branch in Syria known as the Nusra Front, and the jihadi militias Jund al-Aqsa and Jaish al-Fatah, or Army of Conquest.

Binnish is in Idlib province, which borders Turkey. It's a stronghold of Jaish al-Fatah.
