If you've ever been out in the ocean enjoying a solitary ride of the waves, you've probably always felt like something was missing – no, not your friends, but your phone. Samsung has solved this tech bereft problem with the Samsung Galaxy Surfboard holding your handset to transform into a wave-riding Twitter notifications window, Digital Spy said.

The company's Brazil YouTube channel posted a video of the Galaxy Surfboard prototype, with professional surfer Gabriel Medina starring as the interactivity-needy user.

Set to the background of an Inception-style melodramatic soundtrack, Medina conquers wave after wave with the help of inspirational messages and tips from his father/coach sitting on the beach.

The well-meaning missives are displayed alongside tweets from fans using the hashtag #GOMEDINA, which you can also see featured on the board's LED face.

The surfboard has its practical points, too. It can provide information on wind direction, ocean conditions and wave height and frequency for you.

The interactive shredder also runs on a Galaxy phone inserted into a DVD-style tray.

“Though its high production levels essentially make this video the trailer to a thought-provoking epic between surfer and sea, it's also important to keep in mind that the actual surfboard is unlikely to ever see mass production. And probably with good reason.

Whilst Gabriel Medina may rely on messages of encouragement, you can just imagine what your mates on the beach would be sending as you battle furiously against the odds to keep your balance,” Digital Spy said.
