Armenia President says sudden changes will lead to no good

Spending government resources economically, irrespective of the outbreak of violence in Nagorno Karabakh in April is vital, President Serzh Sargsyan told reporters Tuesday, May 17 as he returned from a meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Vienna.

“Many are not satisfied with the pace of changes but sudden developments won’t lead to anything good,” Sargsyan said, adding that reforms should be addressed irrespective of those four days in early April when Azerbaijan launched a large-scale offensive against Karabakh.

“The constitutional reforms were just the beginning of many changes,” Sargsyan said.

“People can always accuse authorities of slowness or of wrong decisions, but the best thing would be to keep things in perspective.”
