Turkey to continue efforts for hindering adoption of Genocide resolution
A Turkish parliamentary delegation currently in Washington met with Matthew Bryza, the U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs. The delegation is in the United States to discourage passage of the 1915 Armenian Genocide resolution by the U.S. House of Representatives. Bryza told the Turkish deputies that the Bush administration was opposed to the resolution. The delegation of deputies includes MPs both from the ruling Justice and Development Party and the main opposition Republican People's Party, Star reports.
