Amy Schumer - Goldie Hawn mother-daughter comedy adds cast

Ike Barinholtz has joined Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn in Fox’s untitled mother-daughter comedy, Variety reports.

Fox announced in October that it had scheduled the project, unofficially known as “Mother/Daughter,” for a Mother’s Day weekend release on May 12, 2017.

Schumer set up the project in May. Jonathan Levine (“50/50”) is directing from a script by Katie Dippold (“The Heat”), which is inspired by her relationship with her mother.

Chernin Entertainment and Feigco Entertainment are producing. Dippold also serves as executive producer.

Schumer and Kim Caramele are also executive producers and provided additional script work. Daria Cercek is overseeing the project for Fox.

Variety reported last month that British actor Tom Bateman has joined the cast.

Schumer’s “Trainwreck” grossed $110 million domestically for Universal and raked in another $28 million internationally. Her original screenplay was nominated for a Writers Guild award.

Hawn came on board the project in February. It will be her first film role since 2002’s “The Banger Sisters.”

Barinholtz will be seen next in Universal’s “Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising,” which opens Friday and in Warner Bros.’ upcoming “Suicide Squad.” He’s starring in Peter Landesman’s biopic “Felt” as FBI agent Angelo Lano and is a co-star, co-writer and co-producer of Hulu’s “The Mindy Project.”
