The City Council of Italy’s Canosa unanimously recognized the Armenian Genocide on Monday, May 16.

Earlier, on April 30, Civita Castellana’s city authorities also unanimously acknowledged the atrocities as genocide, Foreign Ministry press service reports.

The move brings the number of Italian city councils to have recognized the Genocide and expressed their solidarity with the Armenian people to 107.

Italian parliament recognized the Armenian Genocide in 2000.
