U.S.-Azerbaijan phone talks focus on Karabakh conflict

The U.S. Vice President Joe Biden and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on Friday, May 20 held a phone conversation, Haqqin.az says.

The parties stressed the importance of the meeting in Vienna in the context of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement.

Aliyev and Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on May 16 met in Vienna, with the foreign policy chiefs of the United States, France and Russia having mediated the summit.

According to the report, Aliyev stressed the necessity for the immediate settlement of the conflict in accordance with international norms and principles.
